Cancer Support Services Group Facilitator

Position Summary:

The Cancer Support Services Program Support Group Facilitator is responsible for planning and facilitating cancer support groups for our clients with cancer and their caregivers. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plans and leads weekly support groups
  • Assists in collecting data such as sign in sheets
  • Communicates issues and recommendations to Cancer support Coordinator
  • HIPPA compliant
  • Perfom other job-related duties as assigned

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience and skill set required
  • Group facilitation experience for at least one year preferred
  • Personal knowledge and or experience with cancer and or end of life
  • Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community required
  • Computer skills required
  • Reliable transportation with valid NM driver's license required
  • Public Speaking skills required
  • Knowledge of community, state and federal resource/service preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Cancer Peer Support Facilitator Coach certification preferred
