Clinical Informatics-EMR Liaison

Position Summary

To provide a clinical resource that will not only help during the installation of clinical applications, but also on a continuing resource basis. This role will also become the main ambassador of the clinical systems. They are not only a project liaison for Nursing Services, but also actively continuing training and support staff for Nursing Services and other departments that use the order entry system, view clinical notes and generally work with the electronic health record applications. This role is also expected to be an expert in clinical workflow not only within their department, but also as a liaison in how the system interacts with other departments. They are often the first person solicited when an employee in a certain department has an IT-related issue. They are also heavily involved in the software upgrade process and ongoing training.
Be the 1st line of support for Nursing departmental staff, and Physicians
Be the Primary resource for ongoing training of new and existing Physicians and clinical users
Open help desk tickets when needed
Track progress of IT issues
Attend SuperUser meetings
Setup separate multi-departmental meetings for one-on-one issues that need resolution
Coordinate with multiple departments to plan and develop documentation
Work with Nursing to provide appropriate workflow with the nursing scope of practice to meet State, DNV and CMS regulatory requirements.
During install
Help build system tables for your department
Help train all departmental users
Learn the system well enough to train others
Perform integrated testing as required
Build sustainability by:
Continuing to meet with the teams on an ongoing basis
Creating an ongoing training program
Review system upgrade notes and identify education opportunities
Testing, building & training for future upgrades\releases
Call ad-hoc multi-disciplinary team meetings to resolve certain issues

This position will have on-call responsibilities .

• Three (3) years of recent healthcare information technology experience with a Point of Care EMR solution
• Valid NM Nurses license (RN)
• Valid NM drivers license
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must have excellent project management skills and be able to multi-task
• Technology-savvy \
• Clinical workflow expert
• Willing to help others learn
• Having patience
• Be a user of the system
• a positive attitude
• Must understand that they aren’t just working for Nursing Services, they are working to improve clinical processes throughout the organization by being a leader and support person for staff organization-wide

• Two (2) or more years of experience with the Evident EMR
