Position Summary:
To plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the activities of the Plant Operations and Maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition. The Director of Facilities Management shall be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls for training of maintenance personnel in safety and for effective management practices. The Director of Facilities Management is responsible and acts as the Safety Officer.
Job Scope:
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operating from specific and definite direction and instructions. Decisions are of routine or critical nature, made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. Communicates new material, equipment, and procedures to all members of the team. Is responsible for performing job duties within institutional guidelines.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Position is supervisory in nature.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Has both internal and external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with all staff, department leaders and physicians. The most frequent external contacts are with outside specialty contractors. Both types of interactions involve information exchange, good customer service and problem solving.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or combination of education and experience preferred.
• 5 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of Healthcare Facilities Management preferred.
• 3 or more years of prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DNV/NIAHO certification and OSHA regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and State regulations for acute care facilities required.
